2008 XC70 Rear suspension squeaking

Any ideas as to what would be causing my suspension to squeak all time. Even getting into the car. It is very loud. Someone told me that they had the same problem and would cost like $2000 to fix both sides. They were not sure what was done so they can't say what the issue was.
