2005 XC90 2.9 ltr awd tr6

Back up;
Had a couple of issues that I corrected with the help from this forum.

However, Now:
My check engine light comes on, no codes show, no error messages. I do not have a VIDA (yet). But, now, I get random error messages coming up and the check engine light comes up. Such as A brake failure Drive Safe, Brake Assist, all that come up are brake related. Then the next time I turn car off then turn on and drive; no messages at all. I will clear check engine light, but it is coming on more frequently now.

Note: If I stop and get gas when I start the car a stop brake warning message may come up. If I then stop at a store and start to car to leave, it will be gone.

Car runs great, No brake problems, no other issues.

Am I dealing with an electrical problem?

any ideas?

My 2004 S80 T6 which Is a cousin to your car had the same brake assist message. It only came on once then never came back but Volvo was able to pull the code and repair my car. It ended up being a brake pedal Switch And a sensor or switch under The hood on the Brake booster. I'll find my repair ticket from Volvo and add a copy later. June

Here is my ticket, notice it was just a couple weeks ago. It's line C and cost me $552.13 for the repair. I figure the part numbers will help you identify what they replaced. June

I thank you again for the information. I replaced the switch and sensor, as you did, and NO WARNING now. Very much appreciate your information. You save me a lot of headache and work.
