Last autumn I had a weird ticking sound coming from the car. No other symptoms. Drove well. No codes. Eventually I put my hand behind the engine by chance and felt puffs of warm air.
Turned out one bolt from the manifold had fallen out and one of the gaskets was sitting slightly off. A new bolt later everything was fine.
So if you're hearing the below sound, check the exhaust.
Is your car ticking? Check the exhaust manifold gasket. Topic is solved

Strange ticking sound . No codes. Could be the exhaust manifold.
