June, just follow that and you'll post images correctly.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

^ That is, when you're taking the photograph. Hold the phone horizontally.

The pet photo looks to be right.

Thank you, I now know which way to hold the phone when taking a photo for MVS to prevent sideways photos. June

I just wanted to verify which side horizontally takes upright photos. It would be aggravating to find everyone else sees the image upside down. I am so sorry for not thinking of turning the phone on my own. Thank you, June

Portrait is (apart from in phpbb) perfectly acceptable for photos. Portrait video is something you should have your internet license revoked for though ..

I've seen the same issue on Phorum powered boards but they've managed to resolve it. It's all to do with if the photo is saved rotated the right way or if it's got the rotation saved as exif metadata. Apparently they've been unable to agree on how it's sopposed to be done.. On the other forum it was only iPhone photos that ended up the wrong way though.. :P

Are you saying my Note 8 is on some sort of portrait mode? Because I hold the phone upright, the images look upright in the image gallery, but once uploaded to MVS they magically are sideways.

If I rotate in the photo editor to any position before uploading to MVS they upload sideways anyway, even if I rotate the image upside down.

If there is a way to eliminate portrait to standard on a Samsung Note 8, anybody chime in please! June

Portrait is what standing photos are usually referred to as.

The phone will of course be able to keep track of keeping its own photos showing correctly. But different devices do it differently and won't always show the other's photo correctly.

June gets it. I think any further advice at this point only serves to confuse.
