Raxles is no longer providing rebuilds for Volvos. Any suggestions for a good re-builder of Volvo cv joints.

The honest answer is no. As you are in NH it may be worth checking with Erie Vo-vo if they have a good used one. What is wrong with your axles? Is it just CV boots that need replaced? Volvo axles last a long time if the boots have been maintained.

Axles are getting hard to find for me (2000 V70XC). If I could get 5-10 years out of a set of new OEM ones, I would, but I hear they are all re-manufactured now, and I'm not sure if the ~$400 each price tag is justified. I put in a set of new FEQ axles (~$100 each) a few months ago. No noise and they ran smooth initially, but I'm already getting a tiny bit of side-to-side wobble under acceleration again.

Once a year, get under your Volvo and inspect those boots - just like Volvo tells you to.

If you have any damage, repair it before those OEM axles get dirty and then damaged - because you will not find replacements.

Unless you pony up for OEM. Volvo may still have some.
I let a bad boot get past me last winter and just spent
$500 + $75 core for an OEM rebuild with a GKN CV.

I'd bet colorado driveshaft would do it.

Last summer I changed the oil, noticed a bit of grease on the ground, didn't pay attention but now I see that the boot must have been torn for a while. No clicking from the joint so maybe a new boot would be good for now. Last time I tried to do a boot I made a mess of the joint trying to get it off the shaft. When I used to do this with Chrylser cv joints, I remember that I could just pop the joint on or off the shaft, but I wasn't able to do the last one easily and ended up getting a Raxle re-build. This last experience makes me hesitant to try installing a new boot. Not sure where I went wrog the first time?

Most have an internal circlip in the end swivel joint that has to be expanded and then the joint knocked off with a brass drift to prevent damage. Check Youtube as there was a video on this as well as a write up.
