1992 960 Wagon cut out driving down the road

Post by IamToazt »

Okay, so I have had my 960 for close to a year now, and it’s given me a few problems before with cutting off, I’ve since replaced the fuel filter and pump right under the driver’s side. The car does idle a bit funny, but I’ve figured since it does have 280k on the clock that’s not too far fetched to have happen.

Anyways, back to my current issue, I was driving down to the beach with a friend, and everything was fine under acceleration, then the RPMs stuck at about 2k and then started to drop down, eventually leading to the car completely shutting off. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and it started right back up, and started to drive down the road to go home and it did it again. I’ve had the car towed home, and I was able to move the car with no problem after getting it home. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

That’s kinda what I was thinking, but it didn’t sputter before cutting out at all, and once I let it sit, it fired right up. Could it be my ICMs?
