Which auxiliary power relay to replace?

Post by charleyc »

Original owner of 1998 S70 with 332k miles. Car starts, headlights are on, fuses good, but radio, windows, heater fan, wipers all won’t go on. Which relay am I looking to replace? Or is it a worn out ignition key switch? Thanks for your ideas!

All of them in the same time to go bad....i would say...ignition switch.
I guess that you allready checked the fuses.

If you suspect an aux relay, I believe that 2/30 is the one you want.
It’s called out as 105 on the attached chart. It can be swapped with
the adjacent 106 relay to confirm your theory.

Perfect, thanks! Will swap out 105 and 106, and then hopefully find it's only a relay and not the ignition key switch. Report back next Monday.

Thanks for advice all. Turns out the ignition key switch assembly is starting to fail. You can wiggle or turn the key a bit and aux power is restored to all. I can live with it for a while....
