Ok. At this point you should check the basics.
An engine only needs 3 things to run - fuel, spark and compression.

Fuel - Check the fuel pressure at the rail with a proper gauge. It should be 44 psi. Are you sure you have good fuel in the tank? Not contaminated with water etc.?

Spark - Pull the spark plugs, check the gap (0.028"+/-). Are the plugs relatively new? You can remove the plugs, plug them back into the wires, ground them, and crank the engine to see if they are sparking.

Compression - Check the compression with a proper gauge. It should be at least 150 psi and the 4 cylinders should all be within 10% of each other.

After those items have been checked and found satisfactory, check your camshaft timing marks.

You can try unplugging the MAF sensor and seeing if it will start that way (it may run with the MAF unplugged, but it won't have much power).

My 2003 S40 acted like this after changing a slipped timing belt.

Charge up the battery, disconnect the camshaft sensor up by the firewall. Give it an extended crank and see if it will fire up on the lookup tables. Sometimes these Nedcars need a virtual bob on the head to get them out of a mind set.
