2006 XC90 ECM-P008900 Fuel Pressure Regulator

Post by forumoto »

2006 XC90 AWD,

Had FPS and fuel pump changed 3 months ago.

What happened was, this car begun throwing this code, and thought to change the fps, but yet problem persist, so i got a new pump changed and it went off..

Now, can beginning to act strange again as if fuel pump, when car heat up, pressure drops and car wont move, it report above code, got another fps change yet still car behave this way...

I read the livedata stream or parameter display and i had the following when car is cold started

Fuel pressure reads between 402-425 kpsa , which to me it is bad.

Fuel pump duty cycle : 80% constant, it does not fluctuate, at idle but other cars i checked, even at idle while pressure fluctuate, you will see the fuel pump duty cycle fluctuate 51 50,55, you see it changes as the pressure gets low, it increases , as pressure get high it decreases BUT

with current car issue it keeps maintaining 80%, unless you accelerate and then it will drop and goes up to 80% and maintain that position. Here is the car the fuel pump is also new, fps had replace several but i am not getting the fuel pump duty cycle to work along with the pressure, please what could be the issue, because this has affected the fuel system for the car and car wont drive, you need to wait for some time and drive a while and it will cut off, and keep reporting the above code..

is it the ecm that determine the fuel duty cycle or the fuel pump module..

UPDATE

Today, i took fuel pump control module from another car and fix on this car as well as fps sensor but yet still the pressure maintain it stable position when car start, fuel pump duty cycle is 80 %, when you revive the engine you see it drop and back to 80% steady, it wont come down, when engine is off, it drop direct to 25% but as soon as you start it goes direct to 80% ... I need help.
