'98 V70 S70 Evaporative Emissions Charcoal Canister is in LF Fender
If you have a 1998 V70 like mine, the charcoal canister is behind the left front fender inner liner, not in the back of the car. This video will show you where you 1998 canister is (though I might not use the type of hose this guy used). For those with the 850, the location is the same as the '98 V70: left front fender.
I made a little video showing how I got at the vent hose and charcoal canister and replaced the cracked vent line/hose that was giving P0455 and P0442 check-engine-light codes:
