Another code!!!!

Post by Crankin »

Hey guys I have had my 93 850 Turbo wagon for about 7months now. When I first got it I had some codes flash up 436 and 435 in the A2 socket. the car had 180000km on it,and surged badly when accelerating. So I gave her a complete tune up, changed the front and back O2 sensors and cleaned the MAF. Since that the car has run great and still runs great. I now have 210000km on it and code 436 has popped up again? I have noticed that the exaust does smell strong and really always did even after the tune up? I am getting about 10 L/per 100 km which I think is about right. So what do you think new cat time? If so can I purchase a used one or should I go new? I know a really good Volvo guy who gets used parts. What do you think?

Thanks

First thing to check for is a vacuum leak. If there is no leak you need to check fuel pressure. Those are the usual causes for the 4-3-6 code.
