2006 s60 fuel pressure regulator
Where is the fuel pressure regulator located or is the fuel pressure sensor one in the same?

That car uses a fuel pressure sensor and then ECM reads pressure and adjusts control signal to a transistorized fuel pump controller. The fuel pressure sensor is on the left end of the fuel rail. There is a fuel pressure regulator built into the fulep pump/sender assembly cap but it is used as a backup and max pressure limiter if the monitoring and control system has issues and goes to full pump current as default.

Thank you very helpful, the reason i ask is i took it to get it inspected and the print out said that code p0089 fuel pressure regulator performance and multiple cylinder misfire cylinder 1 and 2. What is the best direction to help solve these issues

First park your car safely for the next few days and help out your fellow flooded Tar Heels
When you are back , pull the coil and plug for those two cylinders and post pics

For misfires grouped on cylinders (1-2) or (3-4-5) the first thing I would look at would be the ground ring terminals that bolt to the cylinder head cover (underneath the plastic trim that covers the coil packs). On a 5 cyl, there are two ground terminals for the primary side of the coil packs. One ring terminal (closer to the accessory belt) grounds coil packs on cylinders 1 & 2. Second ring terminal (closer to the transmission) grounds coil packs for 3,4, and 5.
On the L6 engine the grouping is (1-2-3) (4-5-6)
The fuel pressure issue will probably need a little more investigating with a tool that displays the actual fuel pressure while running/driving so that you're not just throwing money at it blindly. There's a fair chance you just need to replace the fuel filter. But it could be something else.

There are some recent good threads on the pump electronic module troubleshooting, via searching that phrase.
If you look up the part number at one of our vendors you can search that too, since we have an ongoing effort to put part numbers into thread titles
