I resent that Clemens.

By the way, do you think you can help me fix these shoes?

Yikes.

Alright, the oil isn't too much of a concern, it's not going to make me pull my hair out of my head or anything.

You know what will though?

These rear door locks.

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't! I've ripped off the door panels and haven't been able to throw them back on for the past year because I can't get them to consistently work! I don't know what to do!!!

Either the doors stay locked, or if I pull the actuator up manually with a screwdriver and keep it disconnected, it can stay unlocked.

Makes me want to rip the doors off.

Any ideas?

Do the locks not have an overload resistor like the later ones? If so, they will fail especially when the weather is hot and may work fine when cooler. Options are to replace them or find out how to replace the failing thermal resistors. Similar idea to the headlight wiper motors and replace the resistors with copper wire between the contacts.

Yup, I've tried it on and off, nothing.

I bought one from a junkyard and put it in, just to find out it doesn't work. So I ripped my old one apart, and I cant get into the motor casing because it's really hard. I'm at a standstill.

Also, I should note that in total, I've spent about $2,173 on my car thus far. Not including gas.

$2500 to get an old P80 on the road is about right.

You are $400 ahead!

A used lock mechanism is likely to be as bad as the one you had as likely it is just as old and crusty.

I thought I had seen either a YouTube video or a how to on MVS on how to repair this.

October 13th,

Was supposed to go to school, but made a quick pitstop at a local junkyard cause they got a new 850. Went in, grabbed an almost new shifter knob, and took it.

Also saw a V70 right across from it... And I saw a third row seat! I honestly want a third row seat, even if I'm only gonna use it to sit in my trunk and enjoy the weather. But the problem is, it wouldn't match the color of my trunk.

and here's mine:

Also bought a lock mechanism (very pricey... coming in next month... at least it has a lifetime warranty), and a left turn signal lamp. I haven't put it on yet because I'm waiting for an amber bulb to come in. The rest of my bulbs are amber and I want it to look good... I'll post pics when everything's ready...

Oh, also, note to self: don't use an adapter to take off your wheels. Thank goodness for lifetime warranties. This is the 4th tool this car has broken. Yikes.

Symbolism at its finest.

Brakes have started making a sort of soft pressing noise when I coast at ~20 mph when the car's warmed up. Gonna change the brakes with a friend this week.

Lots to do, lots to do.

Yep, you want at least 1/2 inch on those and a good breaker bar to crack them, not a ratchet
