My wife's 2004 XC70 just had a split rubber coolant hose on the PCV Crankcase ventilation/coolant pipe(30731068). The rubber portion of this setup was replaceable, so I replaced just the rubber hose.

Part 17 and 18 heater hoses would be my first targets. We had one burst at the local pool with family on board and I had to leave the car there and go back to bypass the heater hose.
When they go it's a large tear on the inside of the hose which appears as a tiny split on the outside. Also because of the location of the heater hoses there's lots of stuff obstructing your view of the leak.
The first step is to remove the engine cover and get under the car with engine running to see the approximate source.

Hi All,
Just wanted to reopen this thread, over the past few week I have completed the PCV job and replaced the banjo bolt with cooper washer and plastic nipple etc. Good news is that I did the glove test on top of the oil cap and it just vacuums in which means the PCV job was a success.
However the coolant leak did not stop. It is leaking at the same spot. Right below the engine near oil filter housing. I don't know which hose to trace or if it is thermostat or water pump issue, I simply can't narrow down. Any expertise advice will really help me fix this issue.
Thanks in advance.

Remove timing cover and inspect beneath the water pump. They can have a slow leak. For this one a dark workshop with a fluoro inspection light is best to spot the dried and coagulated coolant that's been collecting. Daylight hours create too much glare for finding coolant leaks in my experience.
Also the cooler hoses on the engine oil cooler are close to the oil filter so they may also be cracked.

Will remove timing cover and check.
However is there a diagram or picture highlighting cooler hoses on the engine oil cooler? Just want to make sure I am tackling the right one...

Both hoses on the engine oil cooler at the back of the sump carry coolant. They are usually crimped at the factory with Oetiker clamps.
Coolant goes in through one hose, the second hose carries away heated coolant that has heat transferred into it from the oil and carries it away for cooling by the radiator.
