I though a clunk on the driver side front end was the inner tie rod. When I went in to change out the inner tie rod I found that my rack is clunking when i put upwards and downward pressure on it. The inner tie rod feels very tight along with the outer. I took a video of the clunk. You wouldn't mind verifying what I'm 99% sure of?

Also what are my options, could I rebuild the rack? Or am I better off replacing it? If so what are the favorite places to grab a good quality rack from?

Here is the video I took of the clunk I'm hearing

Jorgen automotive, but source your own inner tie rods.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about what I'm about to say but is everyone convinced that your noise is rack related? If that is the opinion, explain to me so I understand. Rack replacement is not cheap nor for the faint of heart if you tackle it yourself.

I feel it is rack related due to the video. When you watch it take note of the sound the rack is making when I apply force to the pinion. It should not be making any noise or having the amount of play in it that it does.
