Car started right up this morning in mechanic's lot. Drove it home (3 blocks) without incident. No codes, no flashing arrows.

Would you believe low battery voltage? Interstate Megatron 60 month, purchased 5/1/14. Doesn't sound like 60 months to me. Swapped battery from car with seized engine and we're good to go.

Yes the couple of batteries that have gone bad in my S80 have caused havoc in my car especially the alarm system in my cars case. In every instance the car was starting fine so I was unaware the battery was weak. Lots of messages popping up on the DIM too which made no sense as well. So a weak battery causing that is not unheard of. June

Similar story. Got a call from a young mechanic I know who had gone to look over a 99 V70XC for friends of hers. Car started but kept dying and then wouldn't start. All sorts of warning lights and engine/trans check lights.

After getting some more info got around to suggesting a bad battery or low battery as car had been sitting. She did the deal on the car, basically got it for nothing as it had to go that day, and then charged the battery and the car started right up and drove 13 hours home! Something had stuck in my memory about the 99 on P80's not liking low or bad batteries.
