What a coincidence E Showell: A deer ran into my V70 on Saturday in Upstate New York.
It dented my FR fender and broke my headlight light lens. Now I hate them.
I installed a Curt receiver hitch on the car on Sunday.
I drove home shaking my fist at all her relatives eating grass along the Throughway.
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Got this super cheap battery switch installed... fits only on the negative pole but kind of works so can't complain. No longer have to grab the wrench to undo the cable
And then discovered yet another area that's leaking water inside the car

I sold my 2002 V70 - it was a good car, bought it when my girls were toddlers and they both learned to drive on it. I'm a bit sad, it was a good car, never gave me any trouble and in the last few years I did all the work myself so it was hard to let go.
We downsized to a Golf Sportwagen, we'll see how that goes.

You're supposed to fit those to the negative pole anyway so that's all well then. Have you got a key lock for the boot or how do you intend to get in there without power to the electronic switch in the handle? Or is it just for working on the car?

Washed the car. Also took the snows out and washed, sealed and tyre shined them. It's a bit early but any night now it'll be frosty and this weekend has nice weather for doing the switch. At least I won't be driving around with studs.

Speak of the devil. Also in Upstate here, was coming back from photo below today and nearly obliterated a deer. Biggest doe I've ever seen.Georgeandkira wrote: ↑01 Oct 2018, 19:31 What a coincidence E Showell: A deer ran into my V70 on Saturday in Upstate New York.

Anywho, finally fixed my bumper so there isn't a half inch gap between the lights and the bumper and I installed headlight wipers. Now I've just gotta get fog lights :/

Professional jerry-rigger.

Picked it up (last night actually). 2006 V70R AWD auto (Sonic Blue Metallic) replaces 2006 V70 FWD base auto (Willow Green Metallic). Wife drove it to work this morning.

This would be for working on the car only, indeed. I wish the device came with some sort of an on/off lever instead of a rotating knob but the space is limited by the trunk cover over the battery. Fortunately I've fixed my parasitic drain issue at the rear plate lights, now the battery doesn't drain any more overnight, but this little device would indeed be very welcome if someone has a parasitic drain, so as to save the battery overnight until the issue is fixed. I'm not aware of the V70, but the S60 has a mechanical key barrel to the trunk lid, it sits upwards at the right of the plate (needs to bend in order to see the key hole). So it works if the power is out in the car and the trunk is locked. At least on my car.
