SRS light after dashboard repair

Hello all,

Looking for some suggestions here. I did a dash mount repair, but did not disconnect the battery before taking unplugging the air bags (steering wheel and passenger side) Of course I got the SRS light.

I purchased the 10 in one tool (Chinese from eBay). It did in fact reset the service light fine, but the light did not go out when I reset the SRS light. It indicated to click "OK" to reset the light, but the light remained illuminated.

Any ideas??? Thanks

You need a decent scanner to do the SRS reset, or pay the dealer tax.

The AUTEL 500 and up series has been tested successfully here.

What tool did you purchase? If it was Vol-FCR, it seems to work best with an FTDI VAG-Com cable, and you need to make sure you have the correct drivers installed and it's set to COM1.

I don't know that anything else will work for an 850.

My Autel EU702 works on my '96 and '97 850s. I've reset the SRS light a couple of times.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get my AUTEL 8xx to clear the SRS code.

Anyone got Vol FCR in Queens, LI area?

Did you re-seat the passenger side airbag connector fully if you had it disconnected.

Also the airbag in the steering wheel can cause issues if the clock-spring was damaged or re-seated correctly. Either could be the real issue the SRS light is not re-setting
