I've been using the Torque app and the coolant temp reached 98C when the car was in P (not moving), yet the radiator fan didn't kick in. In warm summer days the fan kicks in as it should if I turn the A/C on.
When the car is moving, the coolant temp sits between 87C-92C or so (the airflow cools down the radiator).
Is this a normal temperature (98C) and if so, at which temperature does the fan start? To me it seems high because the thermostat is fully open already by 91C.
At what coolant temperature does the radiator fan kick in?

The fan will come on at 104 to 106 C and go off at 96-99C. The pressure cap is 21 psi The coolant temp is the exit temp for engine and is way below boil as long as cap is on. If a/c is on then the fan is running for a/c pressure purposes and never goes near that high.

Makes me feel better. I'm still surprised, why would the thermostat fully open as low as 90 C while the fan kicks in only at 105 C - the later definitely happens only if the car is not moving.
