S70 Coolant Expansion Tank Replacement

My coolant expansion tank is cracked and leaking. The Volvo part is about $60. Rein and Meyle are about $20. Are these good brands? Since it's not a moving part I feel more comfortable going with a non-Volvo part here. But then again URO Parts is able to fuck up the most simplest of parts.

The OEM version should last a long time and is what I would buy, but with FCP Euro I'd also be pretty confident buying any of those aftermarkets. They have a lifetime warranty on all their products and will replace whatever you buy if it fails again.

Good one. About to replace one of said company's power steering resv. hoses.

Leaking like a son of a gun, not even a year old.

You should be able to get 2-3 years from a Meyle tank before it starts to turn yellow... The OE Volvo ones last ten+ years. Replacing the tank is pretty easy on our cars so if you like to play around with your car, get the Rein or Meyle and expect to replace it in 2-3 years.

Your factory tank lasted 20 years, why skimp $40? My 04 factory tank still looks great at 15 years old with no need for replacement in sight. So if I were you, I would buy the genuine Volvo part. June

I tried a Meyle reservoir and it had Uro markings on it. Never again. Replaced it after 2 years, it was cloudy.

- Stick to Genuine Volvo. This is a critical part and aftermarket, as mentioned above, are not that good.

- Go to ebay and search "Volvo 9141095".
- On the Left side of the ebay webpage, click brand "Volvo".

- There is a seller right now selling a genuine Volvo tank for $49 with "Best Offer". I guess you can offer the seller $40, which is a fair price for new old stock.

$40 is two hours of labour at my self appointed rate of $25 an hour for car labor. If it fails, it s two hours of Labour and hassle and possible engine overheat.

Critical engine part.

I’m going with a June on this one...go Volvo. See who makes it now, too.

Seems like an even mix of opinions here... I went ahead and bought a Meyle tank from FCP.

Hoesntly, I don't plan on owning this car for most and a few more years. If the tank starts to look like it's going bad I'll just exchange it at FCP for a new one. Also got a new lower coolant tank hose and turbo coolant return hose. I went OEM on these since the aftermarket options seems to swell turn to crap in under 2 years.
