If you can get the pump for that price its a good choice to swap it out.BlackBart wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 10:36This is where I am. I don't like temporary fixes, I don't want to go in here again, and my experience is 99% of epoxies do not bond to plastic - that's why you mix them in plastic tubs. Once it dries, the leftovers just pop right off the tub.shiloh51933 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 10:20 Personally I'd replace the pump with a new one while you have it out.
Looks like I'll have to take the Audi and cross my fingers - it's the one that left me stranded in Wyoming......

Bart...be careful routing those hoses in that XC tank. It’s easyto kink them and then you gets really brutal intermittent fuel delivery problem

Going to order a fuel pump. Got a reasonably priced manual fuel transfer pump to empty out the tank. Needed to work on the Audi so my wife can use it for a trip. Also helped a friend with his recently purchased MG TD....what a tractor! TWO fuses for the whole car! ....but....Lucas....
So I see the sale price on a # 30761743 at Ipd is $175, and looks like the old yellow plastic like the original.

FCP tells me # 30761742 is correct for $147 and has the newer (?) white plastic housing.

Opinions?
Thank you -
<EDIT>
Oh, and the Ipd pump is out of stock.

Oh, another question -
The o-ring seals go under the tank lock ring?
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... nk-9183708
Is there another one on the passenger sender...they each have a lock ring?
If so, that's two seals at $20+, fine. Then what kind of seal is under the metal cover plates in the floor? I can't remember changing that on the 850, but it was a long time ago.

If you do the pump clean the retainer ring areas GOOD. Blow with air. Tap around a bit and blow the area again. Use a shop vac. There is a high incidence of dirt intrusion when these are changed and the primary fuel filter is a membrane on the bottom of pumps inside the fuel pump cup. The recall replacement of these pumps (yours could be covered, call a dealer with the VIN) caused a lot of techs to figure the clean thing out. The pump gets changed and within days the light is on and it has a code for low fuel pressure and the car surges after it is driven a few minutes. The dirt gets picked up, chokes the fuel flow through strainer, and if shut off for a few minutes it is OK again until the dirt that fell back into cup gets sucked up again.
