All, looking for a some direction on my 2002 XC-70. This baby has 215k and has been running pretty well all things considered. I had been having a problem where it would have trouble starting when it was warm out, or if the car had been run for a while and was well-warmed up. It would take a few tries to get it going on a hot day, then it would run fine with no problems but again have trouble starting after a stop.
Then it got to a point where it would not start at all and the starter had stopped cranking, just a buzzing sound. I swapped the starter and was able to get it cranking again but still no start. Might not have been the starter after all.
When the car cranks it seems like the timing is off. I have fuel pressure at the rail. I have a P0336 code now and wondering if it is a crank or cam sensor? I realize that this is a code that is generic and may pop up during a non-start condition.
I am wondering if the temperature relationship with my difficult starts suggest that the MAF is having trouble? Or could this be the crank sensors (could also have a temperature response in a bad sensor).
Things I know are good:
I have a new battery and it is getting sufficient current/volts.
I have fuel pressure at the rail.
Thanks for any suggestions you all may provide.

You need 50 psi at the rail , not just some pressure. It’s impossible to tell if it’s right without a good gauge, so buy or borrow from AZ or Advance or local “FLAPS”
Ignition on these cars is really reliable unless plugs and coils have more than 100k on them
