The worst bolt that ever was, help.

I am replacing both headlight assemblies in my s70 t5, today I go to remove the three bolts, get two of them out fine, and the third one just keeps spinning and spinning. It looks as if the metal in the assembly has come loose causing this to just spin freely. So of course I try to hold the metal ring with pliers and put counter pressure on it, nothing. I end up removing most of the housing of the assembly to try anything, nothing! How do I get this bolt out? There is not a lot of room to try and keep this metal from spinning in the housing. I am willing to break the housing since I have two brand new assemblies waiting to go in, however if the bolt still doesn't come out and I can't put a new assembly in with the bolt still there.

I would be breaking out the Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel.

Can you get to the back of that by removing the lens? If you can you may be able to jam a screw driver in from the back to allow the bolt to be undone.

Can you get a pair of Vice Grips on the part that is turning?
Another option maybe to inject some metal to plastic adhesive and let it cure. Then soak the treads with liquid wrench.

I would cut the head of the bolt off. I think you have the room to do it there.

What did you dremel? The plastic or the head off the bolt? I’m going to go buy a dremel now any advice on discs? The vice grips didn’t work. It’s definitely a dremel situation.

What I usually do is pry a small screw driver under the head of the bolt and pry while I unscrew.
