Matthew's could be doable, after all Americans made a few interesting cars in the 1980's like the Buick Reatta, 5.0 convertibles are just a couple.
... or that beautiful GM midsize fwd sedan that had a center pivot point on the rear axle. 😉

And can we have water based swamp coolers rather than real A/C units and the only vegetarian meal being Sourkraut?

i think it was a mid 80ies Buick (Skylark) or maybe it was an Olds. I saw that thing on a lift in a friends garage years ago. It was ugly and boxy. I doubt this was custom fabricated, it looked stock.

Does anyone know if you can legally run a car without a cat. converter in Pennsylvania?

If you run a car without a converter what do you do with the o2 sensor? Wouldn’t this throw a CEL?

As others have stated before, catalytic converters are there for a reason. I am also pretty sure it is illegal in PA or anywhere.

It would throw a cat efficiency code for sure, you might be able to figure out to approach the the ECU input to defeat that CEL. If it’s a heated OXS, there would be a heater current test to fool, too.
