1998 V70 AWD what would cause control arm ball joint to keep failing

Post by Miltown »

I have a 1998 V70 and the front ball joints on the control arms keep failing. Is it cheap part or can I have some sort of underlying issue ?

Thanks,
Paul

If you arent using Lemforders or OEM for the control arms/ball joints, they will fail each year.

I had a set of aftermarket control arms fail in less than 6 months. Since then OEM or Lemforder only.

TRW is good,Moog (Federal Mogul),Febi,Meyle HD(not regular Meyle).
Lemfoder is the best since it's OEM...all others from above are following.
Just stay away from ProParts Sweden!

Trw and other brands i mentioned in previous post should last for a while.
If your control arms have just bushings failed...they are replaceable and they are pretty cheap.
