Car is a 2003 V70 T5m with 220k miles I've owned for about 6 years.
For a few years I've had a metallic rattle coming from the front right when going over small bumps. Other odd symptoms are that the car gets unsettled in turns at any speed and the front tire are rubbing badly when fully turned.
I've replaced: Tie rod ends & tie rods (30k ago), front struts, spring seats & front strut mounts (20k ago), turn stops, subframe polyurethane inserts.
I just jacked the car up and banged on everything with a rubber mallet with no knowledge gained. Couldn't find any slop. Sway bar links look good. Control arms look fair but I couldn't see any abnormal motion. No motion in front tire when I try to move it.
There are no Volvo specialists near me, so I'm a bit on my own. Any ideas?

I just replaced tie rods and control arms on my T5 that I think were original, at 220k
I couldn't see much slop but the car is so much tighter now, it is scary.

Raise a wheel off the ground, one inch gap is good. Put a lever between tire and ground and lever the wheel up and down.Ryann wrote: ↑01 Nov 2018, 14:11 Car is a 2003 V70 T5m with 220k miles I've owned for about 6 years.

Any slop in ballpoint and associated parts will show.
I use a pry bar and block of wood.
Easier with jack stand and 2 people.
