It's that or valve is on it's way out.
I vote for a bad vacuum hose.

+1 with misha on this. If the issue is mostly when cold, it is most likely the plastic one way valve on the front of the booster where the vacuum pipe from the intake goes to the booster. The first sign this is failing is when you get a hard pedal in the morning or when sitting for some time. Pull one from the junkyard and swap it out. They do fail but not often.

Thanks guys, I obviously didn't look at it yet but I was sweating it was the ABS.
This makes me feel easier, sorry for the hijack.

HI, I'm bumping this old thread because I haven't been able to find the hose on the parts diagrams. Mine, of course, was disintegrated and hard as a brick and I'm currently running on a length of Gates transmission oil hose. The wall is about 2/3 as thick as what I took off and it seemed pretty squishy but it's working for now. It seems less than ideal and I'm wondering what others have done.

I replaced one with thick walled silicone hose. Definitely squishier than the factory hose but has worked well for several years.
