Hello

My abs system on volvo 2003 s60 has gone bad

Tried finding the same part number couldnt find
p08671221

Any other part number that might fit ?

Most of the brake modules ending in 224 should also suit however this year has software built in to the module that will require a relaod at the dealer.

Is your unit a STC or DSTC capable unit?

So i should look for numbers in endind 224, not starting with p0867

Because these units are programmable the part number alone is not enough. The module will have different software depending on model year and options. Best to stick to same year and trim level. ie. 2003 S60T5 will have the same module as 2003 V70 T5. If it came from a base model such as non turbo it may not have DSTC etc.

If you can tell us more about the trim level in your car and perhaps post a picture of the brake module we may be able to help more

I checked with the dealer
They gave me this number
8671455

However it costs 2 times more expenssive than the car itself. I am looking for a used part they told me it should work without programming as it comes already programmed if removed from

That part number is for the electronic module, ABS pump and distribution block in one assembly. You only need to replace the electronic module from a wrecked vehicle. I was trying to explain that if you buy a used one from the same year model of car with the same engine type you won't need to reprogram it.

It's attached by 3 or 4 E5 torx screws and doesn't require the hydraulic system to be disconnected.

My post here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=87228 shows me attempting a repair on the module alone.

Once you pull off just the control module (part number 5 in the below diagram) you'll see that it does indeed have a part number ending in 224.

As you haven't stated if yours is turbo or non turbo I'm still in the dark a little but I can see you have a aluminum tube going to exhaust which suggests it's a non turbo base model

Yes its a non turbo model.

I found 2 used parts which did not fit the sockets ( on the side) I believe they were taken from newer modes..

The dashboar is giving me the exclamation mark, sliding and abs. Mileage is not counting as well

If you turn the red part upside down the yellow part is visible. This is the interface connector.

Your pic has the screws removed. Your unit should have 3 screws poking through the top. They can be removed with a Torx E5.

If you take it from a newer model the programming DEFINITELY will not match your car.
