C70 convertible top problems

I'm interested in knowing if anyone else has had issue with their convertible top - alignment, wear, mechnical, etc. At times mine will get stuck in mid position. it is a 2004 and it has been to the dealer multiple times under warranty but they never fixed it properly. Now that its out of warranty I'm sure won't get fixed by the dealer. I've also written letters to corporate.

I would like to see if we can accumulate a large number of unhappy owners with the same problems then maybe we will get attention.

Just read your post, and am in a similar position. I have a 2000 C70, which has given me consistent headaches with the soft top, it does not close/tension properly. When the back portion 'flops down' half of the time it will not cinch down to the seal, but instead stop with a visible gap. I've had the microswitches and petentiometers replaced by the dealer, then recalibrated, but soon after it drifts back into the same inconsistencies. Now I've been told my only option is to replace the tappan arms at a cost of ~$1500 on a 10yo car.
What irks me most is that the service technician asked me, "you use your convertible top a lot, don't you?" I live in Southern California, so yes I do operate it often--that's hardly an excuse for what seems to be a failure-prone design.
