Red light on Dash next to information center 94 850 turbo

lately while driving i have noticed that the red light on my dash next to the LCD info center has been coming on while driving, i cant seem to find literature on the reason this light exists, it isnt in the cars user manual either. does anyone know why this is coming on?

Does it happen when it is cold outside? Some have a light that comes on when the temp is near freezing to warn the driver about possible icy roads.

Yeah, that's probably it...if you look closely, there's a snow flake or ice crystal emblem around the red light. It comes on at 36degees F...indication that overpasses, etc. could be icy.

I like to think of it as the "snowboard season" light!
