I've gone through my whole engine bay but haven't touched anything on the backside besides the expansion tank hose and that really short piece of coolant hose on the back left. I'm going to be doing some major work back there and I wanted to know what else I should do while I'm back there with everything taken out. I have an IPD exhaust going in with a 16T, IPD turbo inlet hose, IPD TCV, silicone vacuum line, do88 brake booster line. The cars got 150K miles on everything back there. Besides doing those things what else do I need to freshen up while I'm working there?

A later model all metal exhaust gasket is also nice, you'll need to cut off an corner to fit.

That's interesting I didn't know that was a thing.

1 piece gasket stays on the engine a lot easier than 5 individual gaskets.

What's a late model? My -04 has the individual gaskets. If a screw falls out they can turn sideways and block the exhaust port partly..

EM one piece metal gasket Volvo OEM part # 8699467 fits all 5 cylinder engines with the pictured above corner removed. 10 bucks or so.
