Just be careful because I heard it could get pretty shaky upon re-entry back onto earth.

Favorite moon is a full moon. Nothing better than a full moon. I know that the rule is “a single car”. My whole family is on this trip. So, here is the list.
1998 V70R 220k and some change. I have done nothing to this one except general maintenance. My son connected it with an asteroid, or some space junk, and I am trying to figure out how to get him back to earth. It still goes though.
Also, 1998 S70 T5T Manual at 201k and a few dollars. I'll just pop the clutch, toss her in neutral, and coast the rest of the way. I have service records since new and the list is very long. She does have all the fun stuff though. I.E. reverse cooler plumbing, green injectors, 20+- tune, Volans, Down pipe with muffler bearings, and etc...
Oh, then there is the 2004 XC70. This one is well over 300k. I couldn't kill it. I asked my other son to take over. He can't kill it either. He doesn't maintain it, Not sure what else to say about that. Test in progress?
Um, then there is the 2007 XC70. My Lady is working it out with her. (wink, wink) 220k, and a few leftovers for lunch on that one. Repair list is the usual stuff.
Then there is Sadie. 2000 S70 GLT SE. Rebadged as the Volvo R SS 007. Repair list is simple. If she makes a noise that she shouldn't, I listen and respond. Yes, another looooong list. However, most of it probably unnecessary, like all of the "R" stuff I could get my hands on, I.E. the butt from the AWD and 04' headlights. I love Headlights. It has gotten to the point where it, just, does not matter anymore with her. We have an agreement and she has not let me down. She wears the first two "high mileage club" badges and we are working out the rest as we go. I am, so, close to the quarter million mile mark that I do not want to say it. (Kind of like a girl and her weight, thing...)
I guess that there is one more. The 2000 S70 AWD. however I should probably stop now.
We should have taken a bus, maybe? I wrench on them all and would have had a lot more trouble if you people weren't here sharing your knowledge. Long winded post but all true. Especially the last part.

99 V70 T5 manual, 273k and counting, bought at around 229k. I'm currently prepping an 02 motor for it, during which time I'll also add an LSD, IPD sway bars, and do all the maintenance and repair work I can forward of the wing mirrors. It's turning out to be very pricey, but it should get me ready for splashdown.

2000 s70, bought at 201k miles, just hit 326k today. Just normal maintenance and radiator, alternator, struts, tie rods, and fuel relay. never let me down, runs great, best car I've owned and still looks good, well for a boxy volvo.

I have a 1995 850 10 valve sedan with 670,000 km which I believe is around 415,000 miles. Despite my maintenance, I just can't kill the car. I am heading home now so maybe I should put it in to ultra-glide...Chris

That's an incredible list. I'll pm you if you up to meeting strangers from the Internet. I'm in Boston weekly during academic semester, twice monthly in New England otherwisep80guy wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 11:59 Favorite moon is a full moon. Nothing better than a full moon. I have driven my 2000 V70 manual to the moon. I bought it in 2002 with about 50k miles and now it has almost 274k miles.
Do I have the most severe maintenance list, or have I cheated at this moon-driving goal? At 160k miles, I blew the engine and had it replaced with a 100k mile used engine. I'm pretty close to having this new engine to the moon, even though I only drove this one half way.
I love this boxy car so much that I hope to drive it home from the moon. My favorite moon is the full moon, so it's bright enough that I can keep working on my car in the driveway.
