I'm off to the local LKQ tomorrow, they had an '05 S60 with slide-off collision damage come in a couple days ago with the wood steering wheel I want. We'll see how much stuff I come back with.

Don’t forget to check the wagons for the coveted heated third seat option.

They don't get a lot of Volvos at the one in South Bend (IN). Nor do they get a lot of pickers after parts from them. They can sit for days/weeks/months virtually untouched - which is why I wasn't in any hurry to get up there, it's about 25 miles away. Volvos at the pick and pulls in/around Chicago I've gone to get a consistent supply of newer P2s, but the vehicles get stripped clean in a couple days. Especially the at the location in Blue Island.

Edit- I came back with nothing! The steering wheel had too much sun damage to think about. It would have needed to be stripped and refinished.

That’s why eBay is priced at 3x over junkyard pricing or worse.

I really like going to the junk yard. Feels a little bit like a treasure hunt :D Maybe I’m weird I dunno
Lucky me I have two Pick Your Part nearby and another two in LA not too far away. Have notifications setup through pyp’s app when something interesting enters the yard

It's the scumbags like me who flip junkyard parts
Just kidding, we mean well! It's the best way to serve the people who don't want to go to the junkyard, don't have a nearby junkyard, or don't want to deal with full service junkyards. I know the one time I went to one made me decide I'd never deal with one again!
Unfortunately the P80 inventory has been pretty dry lately around here and I haven't even gotten much for my own cars.

I'm just as weird, I love junkyards! It's the greatest feeling when you stumble upon a fresh car that hasn't been gone through yet. Especially when it's something with lots of good parts. I scored a set of Canistos for my GLT last month, that's one of my favorite junkyard finds. That and my C70 black leather steering wheel. Feels awesome compared to the S/V70 leather wheel!

Treasure hunt yes. Those wonderful Audi bag hooks (that were easily adapted/installed on the Volvo) I found there. I noticed the new S60/S90s have those exact same hooks available as an accessory now. They're awesome. They're strong enough to hook gallon jugs like milk, used engine oil, even paint cans onto them. You never know what you'll find at the 'mall' that you didn't know you needed until you see it...
