How smooth should S80 automatic gearbox be?

How smooth should Volvo S80 2005 5-speed automatic gearbox ideally be?
Form time to time I feel gear changes, especially from second to third. It's definately not rough but you feel the gear has changed.

Is this kind of behaviour normal or is it a sing of upcoming gearbox problems?

I would take a good look at the engine + gearbox mounts. The sloppier these are, the sloppier the gearbox will feel due to the excessive play of the mounts.

Especially this one & its very easy to replace.
