turbocharger preventive maintenance
hi....I have a 2012 s60 T5. Is there any preventative maintenance to do for the turbo other than running synthetic oil and changing oil as needed? This is my first turbo car and i try to head off trouble before it happens, so any advice is appreciated.

Keep rpms low the last mile or so and let it idle 30 seconds to a minute before shutting it off. If driven hard with lots of high rpms than it requires 5 minutes of idle to spool down before shutting down the engine. One of the manuals Volvo provides with the car outlines the 1 to 5 minutes of idle before shutting down the engine. Other than that the engine oil is the life of the turbo. So keep it changed and allowing spool down both will extend turbo life. I personally have never had any trouble with turbo chargers in any Volvo yet. June
