I need some advice for our '98 V70 (non turbo, manual, plain jane). We leave this car in Denver to use as our ski season transportation, so not a daily driver by any means. In fact, having doors that lock is totally optional.
Today, we inadvertently locked the keys in the car, and in the course of getting them unlocked, I believe we somehow bent the LR door lock linkage with the "slim jim" (which didn't work btw). Anyhow, After we got the drivers door open and on our way, the LR lock knob wouldn't move to the unlocked position, although I could hear the actuator cycling. The lock knob didn't even move, and when I grabbed it with a pair of pliers, it came right out of the door, along with the metal attachment rod (which has a shepherds crook at the end, which was intact and appeared unbent).
The issue I've got is that the door is closed, locked, and won't open from inside or outside.
First question: How can I get it open?
Second: I'm assuming we bent some linkage- is the actuator system pretty simple once I get the door open and the panel off?
Thanks in advance!
Door won't open- lock engaged.

I would get a spare latch before you open the door. It will likely need to be replaced.
