Merry Christmas -- I have a 1991 940 T Volvo that just died while I was driving. AAA came to give me a jump, but it wouldn't take a jump ended up having to tow it home. Cars turns over, just won't start.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated??

Okay thank you I will give that a shot. Question though, could it be my timing belt? I have never had a timing belt go out on me so I have no idea of what it would do if the timing belt went.

Is there anyone in Portland, Oregon who would be willing to give this single women a helping hand look at my car. I have no money to offer, but i do have cords of wood. I am at a loss and really need my car up and running. Thank you

It could be a slipped timing belt. Take the plastic cover off the top of the engine and press down on the timing belt. If it is loose it could be a slipped timing belt.
Do you know how many miles have passed since the last time the timing belt was replaced. Your suppose to replace timing belts at regular intervals ... one should never wait until a timing belt goes bad.

I do not know when it was replaced last. The odometer has been broke since I've owned the car which is 4 years. So it has been at least 4 years. The car turns over just seems like there is no spark.

If the timing belt has broken the engine will turn over like it has no compression. Once someone has had this happen they know what it is next time it happens.

So my roommate took one of my spark plugs out and touch it to something to see if it was getting a spark and had me turn the car over, he said it was getting a spark, so the timing belt was good. I check fuse 1 and 11 they are good. ???

You can still get spark with a slipped timing belt. Note: I said slipped, not broken.

You can also get spark with a busted dowel-pin on cam sprocket....which is not the same as a slipped timing belt. Volvo's B23F engine has this issue...I know, first hand.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 00:44You can still get spark with a slipped timing belt. Note: I said slipped, not broken.
