Hi, I 'm new here but hope you can help.
I have a 2014 uk spec XC60 with 2.0 D4204T5 engine (vea engine) and have to replace the timing belt due to contamination from an oil leak from the oil pressure relief valve above the crank seal being loose!!
I have removed the crank pulley and can see the crank timing mark but can see no mark or way of locking the camshaft.....the cam sprocket has elongated bolt holes for adjustment. Surely the camshaft has to be locked in position?
I can find no info on the web regarding this.
Regards, Paul.

Thanks RickHaleParker,
Excellent info.
The only slight difference is on my cambelt sprocket the holes have adjustment just like the injection pump sprocket, but without a lock pin location at the camshaft hub.
I wonder whether I shoud tighten the camshaft sprocket in its previous fitted location or centralise it in the elongated holes.
Thank you again

There is a Camshaft alignment tool (Volvo part number 999 7007 (a guide pin)) that inserts in to the rear of the engine. This locks the camshafts in position. From there you would align the the timing marks on the sprocket, this would align the sprocket to the cams.
It looks like you can get the guide pin at a Volvo Penta (marine and industrial) supplier for ~€38 -40.
A full alignment kit on eBay uk for £35.10.
