OBD no signal

Post by jantt »

Hi

Have a C70 2000

When I put my scanner in the OBD then the power light is on, but not the other two lamps.
They come on as I connect it, but goes out again.
Same with the Volvo Vida. No connection.
Has worked before.
Tried to change the wire in the tunnelbox. Did not help.
Could it be a groundcable ?

Would suggest checking the 12V+ and grounds that go to the OBDII connector. It is also possible one or more terminals within the connector have some corrosion built up.

Next idea I would have would be to unhook the battery and reseat the ECU.

Yes, but I'm not sure most scanners other than VIDA will be able to see it. Ignition switch is in position II when you're attempting to communicate with the vehicle, correct?

yes it is in II. Put the scanner in and all 3 lamps light up and 2 goes out. Turn to II and notthing happens. Then I touch the scanner and the 2 lamps comes on, but goes out again
