When the seller pulled out the front door from the "pile" it had a slight dent in it so he
sold me both doors for $50. I paid $75 more for him to deliver them about 4 hr round
trip - didn't mind paying. It was 2 kids, and they drove up in a 740! I asked
and they said yeah we're into Volvos mostly. One door in the trunk, the other on a
roof rack carefully tied down. Nice kids, ebay name: kar-ander and he has S60, V70,
and other parts in his store.
I would certainly buy from them again.

Finally installed the rear door with my son.
Are there any tricks to get these properly aligned?
It seems like the hings are slotted so that the door can be adjusted.
It works fairly well but the handle doesn't work everytime to open the door.
We want to do the front next but that involves moving the lock, rear view
mirror and if we can't get it aligned right it will be a pain to open and close.

I haven't done one in ages, but I recall getting bolts firm but not tight, then rubber hammer to align the door to frame. Two person job maybe?
Evan has done a couple.

I never had any alignment issues and with two driver doors. They are pretty much perfectly aligned once you tighten the bolts. The obvious way to check is to look at panel gaps. Perhaps the strike plate could be adjusted.

Here's something to be aware of -- on at least some models, there is a bar code with corresponding VIN on the trailing edge of the driver door. If you change that door, be prepared for some quizzical looks at State motor vehicle inspection when the VIN on the dash plate and registration does not match that on the door. Had my local guys puzzled for about 20 min. before they asked me if I'd changed the door. Good to know.
