VIDA dedicated laptops for sale

Hi everyone, just an FYI....

I have been selling laptops to the Volvo-owners community with VIDA 2012A or 2014B pre-loaded and tested.

$175 shipped, for laptop with VIDA 2012A and Windows XP Pro (does not includes DiCE unit)

$215 shipped, for laptop with VIDA 2014B and Windows 7 Pro (does not includes DiCE unit)

1 year warranty on either machine. (But really, if you use it as a dedicated VIDA laptop mainly, it'll last you years and years.)

These are very solid laptops, that I completely refurbish myself. Specs vary depending on the build, but they all meet the minimum specs (all have at least 3gb of RAM) and run VIDA very well. Most include new components, like hard drives, RAM, the laptop battery itself, and other pieces. But I thoroughly test everything. I also replace the CMOS battery on all of the machines, so you won't have any system time errors.

You get the DiCE unit, and it's plug-and-play for you. Simple. No headaches for you, and I'm always here to help with any issues.

I can also do "custom builds" (with money down).... more RAM, solid-state hard drive, small sized laptops, back-lit keyboard, super long battery life, Toughbooks, whatever you need, with a little time I can probably do it .... let me know what you'd like, and we can chat about it.

Lastly... another option I can work with you on is to have you send me your computer, I set it all up and send back. I can even upgrade RAM or HDD if it needs it. That service starts at $65 (includes return shipping), and goes up based on if it needs any equipment (for example, 1GB of RAM would be an extra $10.)

UPDATE:

ALL OF MY LAPTOPS INCLUDE A LIFETIME WARRANTY!
(exceptions: 2 years on the LCD screen, 1 year on the laptop battery... but the heart of the machine I will warranty for life. Repair or replace.)

I have also decided that I am no longer offering VIDA 2012A. There seems to be an issue with the fuel pump test procedure on earlier versions of VIDA, and rather than sell setups with bugs, we're just gonna stick with the most up to date.

I am offering only Windows 7 Pro systems with VIDA 2014D. Yes, 2014D... the most up to date DIY version available.

Have you considered ditching the traditional laptops in lieu of used Motion/Xploretech C5/F5v's? C5M is the rugged version, but less common to find used.
I ask because one of my IT clients in a medical related industry uses one of these to access EMR database in her client rooms. At 12.1" the screen may be a little on the small side, but still quite readable. With a nice integrated grab handle perfect for dragging around/less risk of dropping. They're built with a standard x86, or on newer ones x86-64 intel CPU and run full featured MS windows OS. VIDA being more point and click oriented (not that much text input) the stylus input would work nicely and be much less cumbersome than wonky acting touchpads and mice which are awkward in a vehicle/shop environment. 1 integrated USB port just begging for a Dice to be plugged in. Charge dock adds extra USB ports for keyboards etc converts it to a small desk workstation. Newer ones after 2012 or so are sometimes equipped with SSDs and/or integrated bluetooth.
Older C5 CFT-001s (usually 1.2-1.5ghz intel single core should still be fast enough to run VIDA, albeit a little on the slow side, but can be found often below $100.

Newer C5Vs (Core2 duo/ first or second gen i5/i7 dual core) go for between $150-500 depending on how old and the hardware configuration.

FYI. I'm still selling laptops, I have over 400 very happy customers out there (all lifetime warrantied.)

Dell for $215 shipped.

Toughbook w/ touchscreen for $290 shipped.

Other models available for more custom builds.... ie. dual boot, 8-16gb, i5/i7 processors... all of this can be done.

Yes. VIDA 2014D covers 1999-2015.5

It also has the reference info (think service manual) for all the older cars.
