1998 S70 Oil Cooler Lines 3528201 3528207

Post by 98S70T5 »

Does anyone know which side is supply and which side is return? I have one that someone did a crappy patch job on years ago I want to replace before it becomes and issue.

Thanks,

Scratch that, I see with some research they are connected together via a bracket. Probably makes more sense to replace together.

Thanks,

Together is smart, yes. Kind of an awful job but good luck!

Will do, There must be some pin holes in the lower hard line on mine. When I first picked this up from my Grandpa I noticed a small drip spot on the ground. Closer inspection showed someone had slipped some rubber hose over the line itself at some point in time and used 2 hose clamps on each end of the hose. I tightened those up and no leaks now (it's been that way for the last 13 years at least).

I will just feel better about long highway trips with fresh lines so I don't evacuate all of my oil in a short amount of time if it should fail.

Part numbers added to title

Ouch $125 each!

** Don't forget the Orings - both at transmission and at radiator - several pieces.

Thats the kind of repair that leads to blown engines

Yikes, thanks for the part numbers.

The aftermarket ones are reasonable but it looks like they don't have the bracket (or maybe that bracket comes off of the factory parts?).

I guess that hose has held well for a very long time though.

Aftermarket (e.g. Dorman) is known to be very low quality on this part. The usual way to save a bundle of money on this job is to just get the lines rebuilt at a hydraulic shop but that assumes the hard line section is good.
