There are differences between the clones. My advise is to get a clone that is full chip set and J2534.
Don't make your choice on price alone.

It appears your support has helped many DIYers, including myself, upgraded to VIDA 2014D successfully.

If you can, DiCE USB DEVICE (COM4) at times does not appear under Computer > Manage > Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT). Hence, DiCE CONNECT fails over the admin tool.

I was able to restore it each time with DiCE setup in :x\3PP\Products\DiCE\. It seems USB Driver was missing each time.
Is there a remedy?

Look again, DiCE does not appear as a com port when it is working.
If your DiCE does appear as a com port, you may have a clone that deviates from J2534.

An aha! moment Dr. Parker.

I remember our 2014A VIDA/DiCE purchase. The install from the original DVD back in 2014-15 did install DiCE Hardware -- similar to as shown in your screenshot. However, since the 2014D upgrade DiCE has turned illusive.

I'll look again, meanwhile, what is J2534 and is there a corrective procedure?

USB Device Not Recognized - device malfunctioned.
No success with DiCE Hardware at Device Manager. Listing under Programs for DiCE show a J2534 item with SETEK AB drivers.
Is this normal? where to debug further?

Does the DiCE need to CHANGE location? It asks for "Please locate your original setup sources to continue operation" - I'm lost at this point.

Many, many thanks. My 2011A on XP died on Black New Year. I upgraded to a Win10 lappy, i5, 8 GB ram, IE 11, downloaded uTorrent and the Russian Repack, grabbed the 2014ABD patch, followed the instructions in this thread (thanks RickHaleParker for your patience and persistence) and I'm back in. When logged as Admin I keep getting a request for login to WSL, but that doesn't happen when logged as "1" so I'm going to take the level flight path. Anyway, just wanted to say THANK YOU for those who put this stuff together and who take the time to do the virtual walkthrough for those of us who seek the knowledge.
