Trading 2008 xc90 for 2006 v70 2.5t

Post by Mattbchillin »

I’m thinking of trading my 2008 xc90 149,000 for a 2006 v70 with 133,000 + cash. My dog recently was injured and can’t jump into the xc90. Plus I’m seeing a lot of expensive repairs in the near future with the xc90. It just had rear differential replaced and abs fixed. V70 just had timing belt and water pump.

What are the issues or things to look out for with the v70. I feel like reliability and repairs are better with the v70.

I have the 2005 XC90 2.5T and 2004 V70 2.5T.

You will like the V70 2.5T, bullet-proof engine and trans and you should get to 200K w/o major issues as long as routine maintenance is done.

How does the v70 do with suspensions pieces and bushings?

I feel like the xc90 seems to have a bunch more things to replace then v70. With the weight of xc90 seems like it would reek havoc on suspension and bushings pieces. I just don’t want to pay for the rear bushings when they go.

Any thoughts?

It's good to have a budget of about 2k to refurb a P2 in midlife if you want to drive it long term. That's for paid repairs.
