CD player disc error message

I attempted to load a CD and it failed to do so. It read "disc error" and attempted to eject it. I ended up pulling the CD out with some needle-nose pliers. Now, approximately every 15-20 seconds it sounds as if its trying to eject a disc, then stops, then does it again. Any ideas?

Yeah, something's out of alignment and pulling it out manually probably made it terminal. Chance you could pull the unit out and monkey with it--may get it aligned or slip back to the way things should be, but most likely you won't be using the CD player again.
