Elwood Industries definitely makes S60 seat covers. Full set will run you $473 plus shipping (one seat). I've used his kits on P80s. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.

People strip cars quickly at junkyards, so get yourself an in who will tip you when a Volvo of your range ones in.

Seats aren't shippable so they don't get yanked that fast.

I reskinned my P80 last year from a parts car, the bottoms are easy, the tops are chiral and require minor mods. I convinced my self the SIPS bag would operate with either side skin, there was no special release point stitched in the leather on inspection. YMMV.

Much, much cheaper if you can find good junkyard seats, but the truism seems to be that it is much harder to find a driver's seat than passenger front seat.

I never realized the skins were so expensive. My $500 parts car gave me top and bottom driver skins alone, plus a bit more here and there

Best stock pick of the year.

Pull a good seat at Harry's and it has paid for your entire trip -- and then some.

For the bottom part you can use a front passenger seat which is easy to find in very good condition. For the top it's different as mentioned because of the lumbar knob hole and curtain airbag

You can cut new holes and patch old with left over material from the old seat and this will look quite decent, certainly, better than $500 decent..

I found the leather material to be the same in the SIPS area by close inspection, your risk tolerance may vary

Leather is the same. Apparently the stitching may differ.

I can contribute this to the stitching discussion:

I worked in quality control for a manufacturer that made the seats for Honda Odyssey mini vans. They outsourced the skins to a company in Mexico. Around the area where the air bag deploys, the stitching is indeed “different”, in that it is controlled by a computer program called data stitch. Each skin has a unique barcode and in the case of accident investigation, a lot of data about it can be retrieved. I don’t know when Honda started using this, but I started in 2006. I expect Volvo has something similar.

I never took part in an investigation like this, and I don’t know what all was different or what data is stored and retrieved, but it has to do with government safety regulations. One part of me is inclined not to mess with it.

However, they had similar setups for all kinds of other critical safety concerns. Like torque on a bolt or penetration of a weld. They just stored that data as a CYA in the event of an accident investigation. They can scan a barcode and prove that the bolt was properly torqued and that welding robots were programmed correctly etc. in those cases, it’s just a bolt or a weld, albeit a more critical one, they just are required to have proof to the government that it was correct when it left the factory. They aren’t truly different.

So to close, is the stitching around the airbag truly different? I’m not sure. But, during assembly at the plant, it is a different process at a different station along the assembly line, and data is collected from it and stored forever.

And also, thank you oragex for the videos. I’m sure it takes a tremendous amount of time to make all the videos you do, and this time is added on top of however long it takes to do whatever it is you’re doing for yourself. And of course then there’s the amount of time you spend answering questions and weighing in here on MVS and any other forums you may be active on.

I recently watched your video about sway bar installation when you were obviously freezing cold at a junkyard. Man, I wouldn’t have made that video in those conditions. I would have gone in and got what I needed to suit my own purposes and left ASAP. Clearly you endured some personal misery to make that video and help the rest of us. You’re definitely a better person than me, and I’m grateful people like you and SiRobb and RobertDIY are out there. You save me time, money, frustration, headaches and nightmares. I sincerely thank you.

And have been subscribed to your channel for a while now.
