Wizechatmgr can testify how fast I melt at 80F
We keep a 5 gallon jerry can to dump him into in the event he melts again. He seems to enjoy the cold though, which I do not.

Neil.
Neil, I've been working with a new mast. I took a look at the old mast and found that it was slightly bent in two places and slightly rusted. I carefully straightened it and cleaned and lubed it, and it works very freely, now. I can lube the new one in place, but I'd have to remove the new mast to see if it is similarly free to move. I guess I'll lube the new one and leave it in if it works. Otherwise I'll try the old one.

I used to live in Wisconsin, and can deal with the cold just fine, but when your tools are that cold and your fingers get numb it needs to be an emergency to keep going when it may be 5o degrees in a couple of days. We just got three inches of snow.

I hear you. That is why I am very lucky to have a heated garage! Our cold weather is here for at least another week in the -10C and well below. Hoping for improvement sometime next week. Even in the -9 to 0C range would be nice. Might even get the sump pump in our 'new' house to defrost to get the sump pumped out!

Good luck!

Neil.
