Were transmission DTC codes ever read with appropriate non-ELM327 tool and either Vol-FCR or Brick-Diag Free v0.0.6.6?

And/or were transmission DTC codes ever read with ELM327-compatible, KWPD3B0-capable tool and either xiaotec "850 OBD-II" Android app or volvo850diag Windows program?

And/or were Pxxxx transmission DTC codes ever read using OBDII scanner tool, or using ELM327-compatible tool with OBDII scanning software?

If it is massively over-filled it may foam and suck the foam up causing the problem you describe...

It sounds like solenoids not working to send the pressure to the clutches. . Ive never done it, but Ive heard with difficulty you can remove the valve body with the trans in the car. Check the fluid color first, and if its dark already from slipping you might want to replace transmission at this point since the disks may be over heated. You could have been in limp mode from PNP adjustment or speed sensor and kicking the turbo in 3rd gear start up (limp mode} would immediately burn up the clutches. Im not knowledgeable about this, but have experienced some of these things. so if you have flogged it with the arrow on then I think its over regardless of what caused the problem. basically 'limp mode' should be called 'Stop and clear codes and if that doesn't work then tow home mode'. very poorly designed operating system that with one input lost, ruins the transmission. maby time for the manual swap you have thought about.

JLGALLOP wrote: 28 Jan 2019, 14:20 Hey,

My 850 t5 has the same symptoms. Works fine but has no "gears" after about 1minute of driving.

If I turn the engine off and let it stand for a few minutes it works again.

I dont believe its the oil temperature because its minus 10 centigrade right now. Nothing heats up that fast.

I found several threads with this symptom, but none of the threads end with someone solving the issue. Any ideas?
Just talking off the top of my head, but I thought there was a valve body or other gizmo that eventually fails on the P80 auto trans and needs to be replaced. Not sure what symptoms this failure causes, but there seemed to be a number of threads around the web. Again, off the top of my head (does that make sense to non-Americans), it seems to me that it was a fix that could be done with the trans in the car.
