Working my way through solving the two Accelerator Pedal related DTCs. Four readouts of all ETM parameter before removing accelerator pedal this weekend.

When the ETM on my '01 V70 was dying, it threw a few accelerator pedal-related codes. After having the ETM rebuilt, the accelerator pedal codes went away, so I'm fairly certain nothing was wrong with the pedal or pedal sensor in my case. I think it was just one way the ETM tried to interpret the data it was seeing.

I also frequently saw the absolute throttle position at 20% when the car was in limp mode.
Cars I've owned:
- 2015 to current: 2001 Volvo V70 2.4T; 2004 Honda Odyssey
- 2007 to 2015: 2002 Subaru Legacy L Wagon
- 2003 to 2016: 2001 Toyota Corolla LE
- 1999 to 2003: 1994 Toyota Camry LE

That should be documented here , somewhere...

What is the throttle plate position for limp mode?

Jimmy might know this.

IF Limp Home is a "SAFETY" feature THEN something is triggering ECM-9180: Accelerator Pedal Fault -- limiting power to gas pedal.

VIDA's ETM test procedure says something like "a 13º (%) angle difference requires replacing throttle module". I'll try ETM test tonight.

Is that difference between requested and actual?

This might Be the best diagnostic for detecting limp mode we have found yet

Xheart, can you add the ECM CODES and P codes to this thread? I can map the P codes if you have the ECM

I will.
Someone like precopster is more familiar with "difference".

Its sounds like difference between the measured film sensors that is allowed?

Mike has a Kingfisher stuck in his throttle body.

:-)

Added ETM part number to thread for bookmarking the great video on ETM
