The no-name may have been D2S without the black band. I prefer the S version myself due to better light. I have not had others be bothered by them. If I shine lights on garage door there is still a distinct cut off but pattern is wider and brighter.

Also want to say thanks to all on MVS for the great help. May sound weird, but I'm driving at night with this stupid grin in the dark cause my lights work so well and the brights really do reach...after 18 long months!!
